As at December 2011, the Reference Committee has agreed that additional Schools can request to enter into an agreement with Parents, i.e. School Parent Agreement (SPA).
For those 'new' schools wishing to become a SPA School, please contact School Transport in the first instance, as certain processes must be followed.
For those schools that are a current SPA School, these arrangements will continue as normal.
A School Parent Agreement
(SPA)
involves the school:
Paying the bus fares on behalf of the parent
Charging the parent for the weekly threshold
Being reimbursed the weekly bus fares (less the weekly threshold) twice a year - if the application is successful.
SPA Schools:
must have a completed registration form from the parents entering into this arrangement (a template that you may consider using can be found here), and
can register new or modified agreements for Semester 2 2013 from Monday 5 August to Friday 6 September 2013.
To facilitate the SPA process, all SPA Schools must enter into a SPA agreement with the parent.
A new agreement or a modified agreement could entail:
a new family commencing at the school, or
a new student (of an existing family which already has a registered SPA agreement) commencing at the school.
